Create Database in Oracle 11g using DBCA

1. Open Database Configuration Assistant (DBCA) from Start Menu.




You will get this dialog box. Click Next.


2. Select 'Create Database' option.


3. Don`t change anything Click 'Next'.


4. Enter SID for your database and click Next.


5. Enterprise Manager enables you to control your DB from web browser. The access URL will be shown after completion of the Create Database.


6. Keep the option for Automatic Maintenance as selected. Click Next.


7. Provide the passwords for SYS, SYSTEM, DBSNMP and SYSMAN. Click Next.


8. If you provide weak password it will show Alter. If you want to change passwords then click No. If you want to keep simple password click Yes.


9. Keep it default and Click Next.


10. Click Next.


11. If you want Sample schemas to be included in DB then Select the check box.


12. If you want to execute any SQLs before creating DB then select the option and specify the custom scripts and click Next.


13. Modify according to your project requirement and then Click Next.





14. Summery will be shown of the DB which you will be created according to the instructions you have provided.


15. Done. Click Finish to start Create DB process.


16. Details of the DB will be shown. You can save the DB info using Save as HTML File option or Click Ok.


17. DB Creation process Started.



18. After completion Success message will be shown. Copy the Database Control URL. You can access the Enterprise Manager using this URL.
